On the trail of literary history with roots at Lake Constance

The German poet and Nobel Prize winner for literature Hermann Hesse had his house built in Gaienhofen in 1907. For many years, the house with numerous memorabilia and the spirit of Hesse has been open to visitors. The adjoining, special garden with its enchanted character will also not be withheld from you during a visit. The former farmhouse and today's museum was the first residence of Hermann Hesse during his time in Gaienhofen. On different floors and different buildings, which were lovingly redesigned in 2013 in cooperation between the municipality of Gaienhofen and the HTWG in Constance, the life of Hermann Hesse up to his life in Gaienhofen can be visited.
