Strengthening Team Spirit and Coordination Through Millennia-Old Tradition
Dragon boating originated in China and has been practiced there for more than 2,000 years. In dragon boating, team members sit in a long boat, typically adorned with a dragon’s head and tail. The boat is steered by an experienced helmsman who gives commands and keeps it on course. The team’s goal is to paddle the boat as quickly as possible over a designated distance.
During dragon boating, teamwork, coordination, and communication are essential. Each team member must paddle in sync with the others to efficiently propel the boat forward. This requires close collaboration and a high level of trust among the team members. Dragon boating is not only a fun activity but can also help strengthen team spirit and camaraderie. By working together to achieve a common goal and overcoming various challenges along the way, participants can build confidence in their own abilities as well as in those of their teammates.
